- An incident of theft occurred Tuesday on Main Street in Ramey Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly removed an Apple iPod and headset that belonged to the victim. The items are valued at $250, state police said, noting the incident remains under investigation at this time.
State police at DuBois
- On Wednesday, state police stopped a 28-year-old Columbus, Ohio man for vehicle code violations on Interstate 80 in Washington Township. Upon investigation state police found he was intoxicated and in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The man was subsequently arrested on drug-related charges, state police said.
- A two-vehicle accident occurred Thursday on Carson Hill Road in Brady Township. David R. Daugherty of Stump Creek was traveling south in the right-hand lane. At the time, Sarah A. Hanslovan of DuBois was attempting to cross the southbound lane and turn left to travel north on Carson Hill Road. Hanslovan failed to yield the right-of-way and pulled across the right, southbound lane. Her vehicle was subsequently struck by that operated by Daugherty. Hanslovan was cited for the accident. State police were assisted at the scene by AmServ, DuBois Ambulance and the Brady Township Fire Department.
- On Wednesday, state police stopped a 22-year-old Brockport man on Route 219 in Sandy Township and found him under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. He was placed under arrest for suspected DUI; he was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges are currently pending laboratory analysis, state police said.
State police at DuBois
- On Friday, state police stopped a 53-year-old Madison, Wis., man for traffic violations on the Tyrone Pike in Taylor Township. During the stop, state police found the man had several outstanding warrants out of the states of California, Texas and Wisconsin. Both officials in Texas and Wisconsin confirmed the warrants and requested extradition. The man was taken into custody without incident and is currently housed at the Centre County Jail where he awaits extradition.
State police at Ridgway
- State police have orange, construction style cones and barrels in their possession after they were found Friday on County Line Road in Horton Township. The rightful owner can claim them at the state police at Ridgway.
- An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred Friday at Wal-Mart in Fox Township. Further, two victims told state police that they had items removed from their vehicles. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said, reminding the public to remove valuables from their vehicles and to keep them locked while unattended to.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about loud music at an apartment on South Fifth Street. Upon arrival police advised the tenant of the complaint.
- Police received a report about a male who was allegedly observed entering vehicles and rummaging through them on East Pine Street. Police located the male along Temple Avenue; he was found to be on probation and had consumed alcohol. The male was transported to the Clearfield County Jail on a probation detainer pending further charges.
- Police encountered a vehicle that was parked in the cemetery after hours. As a result, police located drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana.
- Police received a report about a suspicious male who was walking up-and-down the 400 block of East Cherry Street. Upon arrival police found that the male was looking for a friend’s house.
- Police located an open gate to the rear of a closed business. Further, police made contact with individuals who were at work.
- A wallet was turned into police after it was located along Bridge Street. The owner of the wallet was contacted to retrieve it, police said.
- Police reported that a vehicle was struck with a BB along Williams Street.
- Police unlocked a vehicle along Dorey Street.
- Police assisted a resident whose dog had gotten loose along School Avenue. Police located the dog and returned it to the owner.
- Police assisted with a medical incident along East Pine Street. As a result, a female was transported to the hospital for treatment.
- Police responded to South Fourth and East Walnut streets, where people were allegedly moving items from a vacant residence. Upon arrival police located a REPO company removing items.
- Police responded to a three-vehicle accident on South Third Street. Further, a vehicle entered Third Street without stopping, causing a chain reaction accident.
- Police located a male along South Third Street who had active warrants from another county. Police detained the male for verification from the other county.
- Police facilitated the return of items to the owner after they were located along West Front Street.
- Police received a report about am alleged domestic disturbance on Nichols Street. Further, a 36-year-old Clearfield man and a 28-year-old Clearfield woman engaged in a verbal argument. Both received a verbal warning for disorderly conduct, police said.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident at the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
- Clearfield Borough police were assisted with a warrant service.
- Police received a traffic complaint that occurred on Daisy Street.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of fraud.
- Police responded to a two-vehicle, non-reportable accident on South Second Street near Family Dollar.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct at Jaxx Bar.
- Curwensville Borough police were assisted with a warrant service.
- Police received a report about a custody dispute and the individuals involved were directed to the appropriate services.
- Police received a report about an alleged burglary. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance. Upon arrival police found that there hadn’t been any issues.
- Police received a report about a dispute over a dog that occurred on Pifer Road. The incident was handled without charges, police said.
DuBois City
- On Wednesday, someone attempted to pry open a vending machine at a business located in the first block of North Park Place. The actors were unable to open the vending machine; however, they caused $150 worth of damage to it, police said. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police received a report about an alarm Wednesday at L.B. Toney’s on Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police searched the area and determined everything to be OK.
- Police arrested a 41-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman for an alleged incident of public drunkenness on Thursday after they were found lying in a yard on Bell Lane. The couple was found to be intoxicated, police said.
- Police received a report about two people fighting Thursday in the 500 block of West Washington Avenue. Upon arrival police were unable to locate anyone.
- Police received a report about an alarm Thursday at L.B. Toney’s on Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police searched the area and determined everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance involving a woman and her boyfriend on Thursday in the 100 block of Spring Avenue. It was noted that the man left prior to police arrival to the scene. The woman told police they had engaged in an argument and she was OK that the man had left.
- Police received a report about an alarm Thursday at Tractor Supply on Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police determined everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about an alarm Thursday at the United Way on South Jared Street. Upon arrival police determined everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about an alarm at the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Fuller Street. Upon arrival police found an employee had accidentally activated the alarm.
- Police received a report about a known male who had allegedly attempted to steal merchandise Thursday from Family Dollar on North Main Street. When confronted by employees, the male fled the store. Charges will be filed against him, police said.
