State police at Clearfield
- On Tuesday, a known 22-year-old Morrisdale man was allegedly found in possession of numerous drugs on Wallaceton Road in Morris Township. The investigation is continuing with numerous charges pending at this time, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police assisted a disabled motorist on Ogden Avenue.
- Police assisted a disabled motorist who needed a ride on Route 153.
- Police received a report about an open door on a business on Power Avenue. Upon arrival police checked the business and found neither damage nor anything missing. Police notified the owner.
- Police received a report about a fire alarm at the Henry Myers Towers. Upon investigation police found there wasn’t a fire and that a tenant had burned food, which caused an apartment to fill with smoke and to activate the alarm.
- Police have initiated an investigation into an alleged incident of harassment that occurred on Spruce Street. Further, a known Woodland man allegedly pushed a 37-year-old Clearfield man during a verbal argument.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance on Nichols Street. Upon arrival police found that a 44-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both of Clearfield, had allegedly engaged in a dispute over money. It was noted by police that the man agreed to leave the apartment for the night.
- Police investigated a single-vehicle accident on Route 879. Further, a 46-year-old Clearfield man was traveling west when he lost control of his pick-up truck on the icy roadway. His truck continued towards the middle of the roadway, where there was a build-up of snow and slush. As a result, his truck began to slide, continued across the oncoming lane and impacted with the guiderail. The man was transported to the Clearfield Penn Highlands Hospital for medical treatment. Lawrence Township police, the Clearfield Fire Department and towing services assisted at the scene.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an accident during which the vehicle overturned. No injuries were reported, police said.
- Police received a report about an accident in the area of the Hyde light on Route 879. Both vehicles were towed from the scene; one passenger was transported by emergency personnel from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged credit card scam.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of two, young children who were allegedly running around outside without supervision.
- Police assisted a disabled motorist with changing and repairing a tire on Washington Avenue.
DuBois City
- On Monday, police initiated an investigation into several “tagging” incidents that occurred at various locations in DuBois City. Further, someone allegedly spray-painted “DYT” on several businesses and vehicles.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred Monday at the intersection of North Brady Street and Park Avenue. Further, a Sykesville woman was operating a 2005 Monte Carlo and traveling north on Brady Street when she was side-swiped by a tractor-trailer. She was able to obtain a registration and trailer number; however, the operator of the tractor-trailer continued without stopping at the scene. Police were able to obtain insurance information for the woman. No charges will be filed at this time while the woman didn’t believe the tractor-trailer’s operator knew he had struck her vehicle.
Sandy Township
- A vehicle owned by a 57-year-old Treasure Lake woman rolled from a parking position in the Wal-Mart parking lot and hit a light pole on Monday. The vehicle was running, and there was a dog inside of it that may have hit the gear shift, causing it to roll. Minor damage and no injuries were reported, police said.
- On Monday, a Treasure Lake man reported that a known 20-year-old DuBois man was continually harassing him and his family by driving erratically in front of his residence and pulling into his driveway. When police spoke to the accused, he stated that the man had also been harassing him. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- A trailer license plate was found on West Long Avenue Extension on Monday.
- On Monday, a 40-year-old Circle Road resident reported she had received three, different voicemail messages from an unknown caller who advised her that the Attorney General’s Office had a warrant for her arrest. Further, she was told to call to see how much money to send in order to have the warrant rescinded. The woman, police said, recognized it as a scam and neither provided information nor called the number left for her.
- On Tuesday, a woman reported she had received a phone call from an apparent foreign male who claimed to be from the Department of Foreign Affairs that had a case against her. When she attempted to contact the call back number, it was a dead line and she recognized the call as a scam, police said.
- On Tuesday, police received a report from a Treasure Lake man that a known 20-year-old DuBois man was again harassing him by driving his vehicle erratically in front of his house. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute involving a 48-year-old woman and her 23-year-old son Tuesday at a Treasure Lake residence. The woman told police that her son hit her in the head, knocking her to the ground. Police located the man in the basement, where he was in possession of a gun and would not comply with commands to put it down. Police were able to seize the gun and subdue the man with a taser. The man, police said, was taken into custody and later transported to Penn Highlands for a mental health evaluation.
