State police at Clearfield
- An accident occurred Monday on the Tyrone Pike in Glen Hope Borough. Jennifer D. Baker of Curwensville was traveling south when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a ditch. She sustained minor injuries; she was wearing her seatbelt. Baker was cited for the accident, state police said.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime Tuesday or Wednesday on Lamb Drive in Morris Township. During the incident, someone allegedly made a two- to two-and-a-half-inch cut in the front, passenger’s side tire on the victim’s vehicle. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of criminal trespass occurred Wednesday at the Wal-Mart store in St. Marys. During the incident, a 17-year-old Kersey boy was allegedly at the store, knowing that he wasn’t permitted to be there. He was cited for the incident, state police said.
- An accident occurred Wednesday on the Million Dollar Highway in Fox Township. Further, a vehicle operated by a Kersey male was stopped at Old Kersey Road while a vehicle operated by Mark J. Candalor of St. Marys was traveling south in the left-hand lane. The male failed to observe the Candalor vehicle and pulled out to make a left-hand turn. Candalor was unable to avoid striking the male’s vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene; the male was cited for the accident, state police said. State police were assisted by the Fox Township Ambulance, the Fox Township Fire Department and the Fox Township police.
- An accident occurred Monday on Keystone Road in Horton Township. Brooke L. Vanalstine of St. Marys was traveling south when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway. She crossed the roadway and impacted a parked vehicle in a driveway. The Vanalstine vehicle was towed from the scene, state police said.
- An incident of theft occurred sometime between Jan. 10 and Monday on Servidea Drive in Ridgway Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took the victim’s prescription medications. The incident remains under investigation at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
- An accident occurred Monday on Toby Road in Fox Township. Dawn M. McGrath of Kersey was traveling east when her vehicle started to spin counterclockwise. It crossed the roadway and impacted an embankment; it subsequently overturned onto its passenger’s side. McGrath was wearing her seatbelt and she was not injured. The McGrath vehicle was towed from the scene, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police assisted the fire department with an automatic fire alarm along Latimere Street. Upon arrival police found that it was a false alarm.
- Police were dispatched to the hospital for a female patient who had been involved in an accident earlier in the day. Upon arrival the female reported that her vehicle had been rear-ended along Nichols Street and she was seeking treatment.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a female who was making statements about another person. Police were able to speak to the individuals and handled the incident at the scene.
- Police arrested a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both of Clearfield, for simple assault and disorderly conduct. Police received a report about an alleged domestic assault on East Market Street, where the couple had engaged in a fight along the sidewalk. Employees of the Clearfield Municipal Authority observed the fight, separated the couple and contacted 9-1-1. The man, police said, fled the scene on foot and then from a rear apartment door on East Locust Street. After a short foot pursuit, he was apprehended on East Market Street; he told police that he wanted to see his wife. Both the man and woman sustained minor injuries and were incarcerated at the Clearfield County Jail for probation violations. Charges will be filed through the district court later today. Members of the Clearfield County Sheriff’s office assisted Clearfield Borough police.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a waterline break on Washington Avenue in Hyde. Further, police notified the water authority about the break.
- Police received a report about an alleged impersonation of an officer. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged burglary in the Glen Richey area. The complaint was listed as unfounded, police said.
Curwensville Borough
- Police reported that sometime Sunday or Monday, a black PT Cruiser was damaged while it was parked at the Curwensville Commons.
- Police arrested a Curwensville man who was allegedly found under the influence of alcohol in the area of Thompson Street. The man, police said, was released and will be cited for public drunkenness.
