State police at DuBois

  • An incident of burglary occurred Saturday along McVitty Road in Washington Township. During the incident, a known juvenile male allegedly removed items from the victim’s residence. The appropriate charges will be filed against the male, state police said.
  • On Aug. 21, a known person was taken into custody on a felony theft warrant and allegedly found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, a small amount of marijuana and a stolen credit card. Charges are pending at this time, state police said.
  • An incident of theft occurred Sunday on the Rockton Mountain Highway in Union Township. During the incident, someone allegedly stole multiple guns that belonged to the victim.
  • Samantha Anne Malfara, 25, allegedly failed to register under Megan’s Law requirements within three business days. She left Just for Jesus on July 20; a warrant has been issued for Malfara, state police said.
  • An incident of criminal mischief occurred Monday at an Interstate 80 eastbound rest area in Pine Creek Township. During the incident, someone allegedly smashed out the passenger’s side window of a red Ford Taurus while it was parked at the rest area. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.

State police at Philipsburg

  • An incident of burglary occurred Aug. 16 on North Ninth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly broke into the victim’s garage and removed a pressure washer. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
  • An incident of disorderly conduct occurred Tuesday on Beaver Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, an Osceola Mills man allegedly stood up from his wheelchair and urinated on the sidewalk.

Lawrence Township

  • Police received a report about an alleged physical domestic dispute in the Woodland Road area.
  • Police received a report about drug paraphernalia that was allegedly located in the area of Elliott Park.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of child abuse at a business along Plaza Drive.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft by deception/fraud from a business on Route 879.

Decatur Township

  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of fraud. During the incident, a male on Craig’s List attempted to purchase a laptop with alleged fraudulent checks. Police would like to encourage residents to use caution when making online purchases.
  • Police received a report about an alleged incident of assault. Further, a female told police she was choked by the suspect at the Sheetz in Philipsburg. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
  • Police handled a barking dog complaint in Osceola Mills.
  • Police received a complaint about a dog running loose and defecating on other persons’ property in the Hudson Street area.
  • Police received a report about all-terrain vehicles being driven on Eliza Street in Houtzdale Borough. Police would like to remind residents that ATVs aren’t permitted on roadways.
  • Police engaged in a pursuit with a motorcyclist through Houtzdale Borough. The motorcycle wasn’t licensed to be on the roadway, police said. The motorcyclist eventually stopped after initially trying to flee from police.
  • A Philipsburg man was taken to the Clearfield County Jail after allegedly being found under the influence on Cowfer Road. Police noted that the male was detained by probation.
  • Police responded to the Stumptown Trailer Park, where the victim was allegedly being threatened by a male with a gun. Upon arrival the victim didn’t want to pursue charges, police said. Police advised those involved to contact them to handle neighborhood complaints.
  • Police were notified about an alleged gas drive-off at the Country Convenience Store in Osceola Mills. Further, a male allegedly pumped $56 worth of gas and then drove away toward Philipsburg.
