DUBOIS – Two men who fled from a traffic stop initiated by DuBois City police officers to resist being taken into custody after a report of an alleged disturbance were jailed on Thursday.

According to the report, officers were dispatched to Clinton Avenue for a disturbance at 1:53 p.m. Upon police arrival, a vehicle was observed leaving the residence, and its driver committed several traffic violations while fleeing the area.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle in the 500 block of South Avenue. However, it came to a stop and both the driver and passenger fled from the vehicle, police said.

An officer chased the driver through several yards on South Avenue, continuing through the St. Catherine’s Cemetery and then through several yards on Simmons Street, according to the report. He was taken into custody along Simmons Street and identified as David Jalonski of Clearfield.
