State police at DuBois

  • On Jan. 18 state police reported that a 62-year-old DuBois man failed to advise the Megan’s Law Unit of a change to his cell phone number. The man was not identified in the state police’s report; it was indicated that the investigation is ongoing at this time.

State police at Ridgway

  • State police received a report about an incident of theft that occurred sometime between Dec. 26 and Monday on Cleveland Street in Weedville. During the incident, someone allegedly removed two steel no trespassing signs from the victim’s property without permission. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.

Sandy Township

  • On Tuesday police received a report about a disabled vehicle blocking traffic on Watson Highway at the Blinker Parkway. Police said that the vehicle was towed from the scene due to the hazard it was causing.
  • On Tuesday a 31-year-old Freedom Road man was pulled over and taken into custody without incident due to a warrant out for his arrest.
  • On Tuesday a 34-year-old North Carolina man reported that while his tractor-trailer was parked at the Pilot parking lot, it was hit and damaged by the driver of another tractor-trailer that then left the scene. It remains under investigation at this time, police said.

DuBois City

  • On Tuesday police were dispatched to the area of East DuBois Avenue and College Park Place, where a person was walking down the middle of the roadway in shorts and a T-shirt. Police said the caller was concerned for the person’s health due to the cold temperature. However, the person was gone upon police arrival.
  • On Tuesday police were dispatched after a report about a disabled vehicle on East DuBois Avenue. Upon arrival police learned the driver had already contacted AAA and was waiting for a towing service. Police waited for the arrival of the tow truck to make sure the scene was safe.
  • On Tuesday police were dispatched for a burglar alarm on West DuBois Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene, police checked the exterior and discovered an open door. Further investigation determined that everything else was OK.
